World's largest colour register system order selected from Q.I. Press Controls
 |
|
Q.I. Press Controls is involved in a ₤ 55 Million investment in the London Docklands. To realise production stability and to maintain a high colour and register quality, HQP has chosen on July 31 for Q.I. Press Controls to equip their total KBA Flexo-Courier press configuration with a completely integrated IRS colour register system. |
The KBA Flexo-Courier press configuration exists of 8 printing presses with each of them comprising one folder unit and 40 printing couples. By the end of 2004 all of them will run with the Intelligent Register System of Q.I. Press Controls, integrated in the Honeywell ‘Printa” operation system and control desk. The complete order comprises 64 CCD register scanners for full colour register monitoring; each 4/4 tower has one scanner for front- and one for backprint.
HQP is one of the few in Europe that chose flexo printing for its newspaper productions 15 years ago. HQP is a subsidiary of Associated Newspapers, which is a part of Daily Mail & General Trust (DMGT). The daily production run is about 2 million colour printed copies a day for their newspaper publications like Daily Mail and Evening Standard. Purchasing Q.I. Press Controls’ colour register system is part of the growth strategy of HQP.
Q.I. Press Controls is one of the largest suppliers of register control and management systems for the graphic industry worldwide. The systems are suitable for the rotary web offset printing (newspapers, commercial print, business forms, tag and label and packaging). In close cooperation with the large press suppliers worldwide, the systems are installed on new and retrofit press configurations. The register control software of Q.I. Press Controls’ IRS system can be integrated into the press control technologies, like into Honeywell’s ‘Printa’ system at HQP.
