Oosterhout, novembro 2015 – Q.I. Press Controls has received yet another order from Malayala Manorama. The organisation, which has the most widely sold and circulating newspaper in India, has purchased the mRC-3D for its plant in Kollam, India. Q.I. Press Controls has been working with the newspaper for many years already. Results at its other sites have proved so good that Malayala Manorama had no hesitation in ordering Q.I. Press Controls’ register system for its Manugraph Smartline press in Kollam.

Malayala Manorama owns around 25 leading daily and weekly newspapers in India, publishing in both English and Malayalam. The organisation operates from nineteen plants spread across India. Since 2011, Malayala Manorama Daily can count itself amongst the most widely circulating newspapers in the world. Menno Jansen, managing director of Q.I. Press Controls, is honoured that an organisation as successful as Malayala Manorama should be satisfied with automation solutions provided by Q.I. Press Controls and takes a great deal of pride in the new order. “Receiving the order for the mRC-3D cameras demonstrates that Q.I. Press Controls fit in with the leading players on the world stage, so we are justly proud,” explains Jansen.

Collaboration between Q.I. Press Controls and Malayala Manorama started in 2011. Manugraph’s first Smartline double-width printing press in India was sold to Malayala Manorama, so the organisation went in search of a supplier of automation solutions able to provide the best possible support in this area. References on the India market pointed to the reliability offered by Q.I. Press Controls, as a result of which Malayala Manorama opted for 48 of Q.I. Press Controls’ mRC+ cameras. In doing so, the Indian organisation affirmed its faith in Q.I. Press Controls’ assurance to enable top-quality printing with the lowest possible levels of waste.

The 2011 order and the subsequent upturn in returns led to a string of new orders for Q.I. Press Controls. The mRC+ is now being installed at four other sites. Malayala Manorama explains that the systems have proved their worth several times over. They say that Q.I. Press Controls’ automated solutions work effectively on the Malayala Manorama printing presses. Not only have they brought about less wastage, fewer operators are needed and it takes significantly less time to print an edition. Most importantly however, these systems enable them to print in high quality.

The new order for the plant in Kollam consists of the new mRC-3D, the successor to the mRC+. 18 mRC-3D cameras are being installed for colour register and cut-off on a Manugraph Smartline double-width printing press with 4 towers and 1 folder. Malayala Manorama adds that, in the wake of results from previous orders, they have every confidence in installing the new system on its press in Kollam. Vijay Pandya, Managing Director of Q.I. The history of collaboration with Malayala Manorama also demonstrates Q.I. Press Controls India’s ability to build up a good network of contacts.
