– This year, QIPC-EAE celebrates its 30th anniversary. What once started with two friends, a shared ambition and a garage box as their first office, has grown into a global leadership in the graphics industry. A position it holds to this day, while now also rapidly gaining ground in intralogistics.
In 1996, Q.I. Press Controls was founded by Erik van Holten and Menno Jansen, driven by a clear vision: to develop innovative measurement and control systems that would improve the efficiency and quality of the printing process. From those early days in a garage, the first ideas quickly evolved into patented technologies and the foundation of a company that would go on to redefine press automation worldwide.
From print innovation to global technology leadership
What followed was a journey of continuous innovation and expansion. From pioneering vision and control systems to intelligent automation platforms, QIPC steadily built a global reputation as a leader in print process optimisation. Over time, the organisation expanded internationally and strengthened its position through long-term partnerships and technological advancement.
A major next step came when QIPC joined forces with EAE in 2014, forming the foundation of what is now QIPC-EAE. With QIPC as a front runner in innovative, high-quality optical measurement and control systems and EAE the leading supplier of control, automation and software solutions for the printing industry, this merger created a unique combination of expertise.
Expansion into intralogistics with EAE Solutions
The drive for innovation didn't stop there. Building on its expertise in software-driven control systems and vision technology, the company expanded into sortation control and automation for high-performance intralogistic environments. In 2018, EAE Solutions was established.
From its Flow.Control platform and in-house vision technology to robust mechanical sorting equipment, EAE Solutions has evolved from a software specialist into a full system integrator delivering complete, turnkey sortation solutions. Just as QIPC-EAE grew into a leading player in the graphics industry, EAE Solutions is now establishing itself as a serious force in the intralogistics market.
30 years of celebration and connection
To celebrate this milestone, colleagues from across the world came together for a special anniversary event. It was an evening dedicated to connection, shared stories and recognition of the people who have shaped the company’s journey over the past three decades.
The celebration brought together teams from both local and international offices for a festive evening featuring a shared dinner, great conversations and an informal atmosphere to reconnect and reflect. The night continued with entertainment, surprises and a lively setting, followed by a dance floor that stayed full well into the evening.
Looking ahead
As QIPC-EAE celebrates 30 years of progress, the company looks back with pride and forward with ambition. Holland Capital has joined as a strategic partner to support the next phase of innovation, product development and international growth. As part of this new chapter, founders Erik van Holten and Menno Jansen will step back from day-to-day operations, remaining involved as shareholders and strategic advisers. Tom van Holten has been appointed Group CEO of both QIPC-EAE and EAE Solutions, ensuring strong and focused leadership as both companies continue to grow.
