Linköping, Sweden – Newspaper titles such as Östgöta Correspondenten and Norrköpings Tidningar are now benefiting from higher and more consistent color quality, while Pressgrannar AB, the printing company behind these publications, reports increased efficiency thanks to the installation of IDS‑3D, an advanced closed‑loop color control system from Q.I. Press Controls.
In the second quarter of this year, Pressgrannar became the first printer in Sweden to implement the IDS‑3D system. The installation followed a comprehensive evaluation by the company’s leadership team, who carefully reviewed all available technologies before selecting QIPC as the optimal partner.
“Pressgrannar prints an increasing volume of commercial jobs for external clients,” explains Ulf Asknert “These customers have choices, and it’s essential that we provide them with the highest possible quality at the most competitive cost.
That was one of the main reasons we explored greater automation.” During their assessment, the Pressgrannar team was particularly impressed by QIPC’s intelligent pre‑setting systems combined with proven damp and fan‑out control technologies. The combination promised a substantial reduction in waste and ink usage, along with a clear boost in print quality. Following the installation earlier this year, early performance results were closely monitored.
Johan Söderholtz shared his enthusiasm: “Our print quality has improved tremendously, and most importantly, it’s consistent across both folders.” With this investment, Pressgrannar positions itself at the forefront of print automation in Sweden, setting a new standard for both newspaper and commercial print production.
