QIPC-INTRO PHT Print Traverses are high precision rails for ink-jet print integration.

Print traverses can be used to add monochrome or color personalization to existing rotative print lines or finishing lines. In newspaper press integrations, about 1,600,000 imprints are applied with speeds up to 900 m/min (3000 fpm) - every day!

Print head positioning



QIPC-INTRO PHT print head traverses are designed to support Kodak Prosper S-Series print heads.

Since the use of digital print head components will not cover the whole web width, print heads have to be moved exactly to the lane position they will print on. For a precise alignment, the print head can be moved by manually or motorized traverses with precision timing belts.

For applications with imprint registration control, motorized positioning is mandatory.

Intuitive operation



Operating the print traverse is very user-friendly. The touchscreen operation allows to move the print head relative to each print plate. In addition, the optional camera registration control can be operated in a convenient software environment.

Additional remote operator screens can be placed at the control stand, allowing also to access the Kodak print controller screen.

Active imprint position control



Using the QIPC-INTRO RegControl registration control camera system, each PHT print head traverse can be equipped with an active imprint control. This ensures that the variable print is always applied at the right position in relation to the regular printed content.

The camera system measures the position of small printed marks at the format border. In case of deviations, it automatically adjusts the inkjet print Position by moving the print head sideways and generating the correct signals for the Kodak print head controller for an image shift in production direction.
